Miranda Lambert, "More Like Her" - A change of pace for Miranda, this is a stripped down, mournful ballad that brings to mind the Dixie Chicks before they went off the rails. Carrie Underwood may steal most of the attention these days, but we're putting our money on Miranda to be a star in Country music for a long, long time. A fantastic single and the VoC Hitbound Sound.
Trace Adkins, "Muddy Water" - We mentioned this track in a VoC blog awhile back, and it's now the new Trace single. Trace delivers a beautiful, soulful vocal on this gospel-inspired ballad. Another hit, without a doubt.

John Michael Montgomery, "If You Ever Went Away" - This one's a real beauty. A regret-filled lyric written in a conversational style is brought to life by John Michael's expert vocal. It's in the great tradition of powerful, moving ballads that JMM is known for.
Shawna Russell, "Should've Been Born with Wheels" - After three ballads, we had to put some juice in the playlist and Shawna is the girl to fill the bill. This follow-up to "Goddess" is a chugging retro rocker that at times brings to mind T-Rex, "Get It On (Bang a Gong)". Sassy vocals are the icing on the cake on this dancefloor-filler.
