RIP: Jerry Reed

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor Jerry Reed has passed away at the age of 71.

Jerry had both Country and pop music success in the last half of the twentieth century and wrote songs for artists including Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. Jerry won a Grammy Award in 1972 for "When You're Hot, You're Hot".

Jerry was also successful actor, playing the part of "The Snowman" in the film, "Smokie & the Bandit". He was also a regular fixture on US television, including as a cast member of the "Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour".

His spokesmen said Jerry passed away after a battle with emphysema.
