Brad Paisley & Keith Urban, “Start a Band” – They don’t get much bigger than this! It sounds just as good as you’d expect from a collaboration between these two Country powerhouses…even better, in fact. We’re going out on a limb (ahem!) and making this the new VoC Hitbound Sound.
Rascal Flatts, “Here” – The boys follow up the edgy “Bob That Head” with this move into more traditional Flatts territory. Another soaring power ballad, it’s nothing radically different from what they’ve done before. But since what they’ve done before has made them into millionaires, we can see their logic!
Sugarland, “Already Gone” – As summer ends and the nights start to fall ever earlier, Sugarland release this sparkling, waltz-tempo number that almost brings a Christmas feeling to the airwaves (guess that’s why the Christmas gear is already turning up in the shops, as well!) Listen out for the back and forth vocal interplay between Jennifer and Kristian at the tail end of the track.
Blake Shelton, “Maybe She Wouldn’t Be Gone” – Blake delivers a super-passionate vocal on this urgent, dramatic ballad. Another hit for the man from Oklahoma.
