Country superstar Toby Keith banked an incredible $48 million between June 1, 2007 and June 1, 2008. That makes him the third highest earning music star in the WORLD for last year, behind the reunited pop group the Police ($115 million) and pop/r 'n' b diva Beyonce ($80 million).
Lightweights (!) like Justin Timberlake and Madonna trailed way behind at $44 and $40 million respectively (all figures from Forbes magazine).
