Jails and drinking have figured heavily in Country lyrics over the years, and now they're part of the latest news stories about Mindy McCready and Kenny Chesney.
Sadly, Mindy is staring at the world through jailhouse bars once again, as she begins serving a 60-day sentence for probation violation. The troubled singer entered a negotiated plea agreement after it was alleged she had falsified records of community service ordered in an an earlier court appearance.
Meanwhile, the only kind of bars superstar Kenny Chesney is dealing with are of the cocktail variety, as he announces plans to market his own rum. Kenny, a well-known devotee of the Caribbean lifestyle, is partnering with a spirits company to bring a "premium rum" to market in 2010.
"We're looking to create a fun-in-the-sun, vacation-in-a-bottle kind of experience, " Kenny explained.
