Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw are no longer married, but they do have one thing in common: they've both declared bankruptcy.
Lorrie filed for bankruptcy on October 22 iin the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. The singer issued the following statement:
"Upon the advice of my business manager and legal counsel, and despite their best efforts to formulate an alternative, it was a necessary business decision for me to file for bankruptcy today as a method of restructuring my finances".
It's very important to me that my fans and business associates understand that I'm OK. Today's economic times have affected many American families and businesses. I, along with many of you, am not immune to this fact. I would appreciate the courtesy of my friends and fans respecting my privacy regarding this matter."
Lorrie's ex-husband, Country star Sammy Kershaw, declared bankruptcy in February, 2007. The couple had formerly owned a Nashville area restaurant called HotChickens.com, which eventually went bust.
