Back to Iraq: Country Star Returns to the Front Lines

Who is the only entertainer about to leave for Iraq who has previously served and been wounded there?

It's Stephen Cochran, who's had hits on VoC with "Friday Night Fireside", "Everything We Knew" and "Thinkin' I'm Drinkin". Stephen leaves on Boxing Day to entertain servicemen and women serving in Iraq. It is the first known instance of a former soldier who has been injured in Iraq returning to the front lines to entertain his fellow soldiers.

Stephen has also served in Afghanistan and has been treated as recently as this month for the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome resulting from his experiences.

"It's a lonely time over there for the troops, and I'm glad we're going to get to play for the men and women who really need us," Stephen commented regarding his impending jaunt.

A Christmas tip of the hat to Stephen, not only a fine artist but a true hero.
