With the madness of the festive period behind us, Nashville is back to business with everyone digging into projects for the New Year. As I've been running errands and generally taking care of business, I've been doing some star spotting for you and have the following to report:
Suzy Bogguss was in the Borders book and CD store in Brentwood with husband Doug Crider doing some post-Christmas shopping. I chatted with her while she was browsing the magazine rack and found out she was excited about her upcoming UK shows. Suzy has been really good about keeping in touch with her UK fan base and coming over for appearances as often as she can, as I'm sure you're all aware.
She has nothing but good things to say about UK audiences, and really appreciates the way fans overseas listen to the words and take their music very seriously.

I've also been seeing a lot of Jake Owen, who's been in our local health club every day this week under the watchful eye of personal trainer Jon Sexton. Jake starts out his workout with a brisk run on the treadmill or cross trainer, followed by weight training with Jon and some "lunges", which involves deep knee bends while walking forward. The result looks a lot like Chuck Berry's famous "duck walk" (!)
I'm not sure if Jake's fitness regime is in preparation for forthcoming live shows or just the product of a New Year's fitness resolution, but either way. he's taking it seriously and getting a lot of appreciative looks from the female health club members.
Finally, Renae of Cowboy Crush has also been spotted on an almost daily basis at the Boost FitClub gym. Renae is as thin as a rail, no doubt due to the strenuous cardio workouts she indulges in as part of her workday routine!
