More Star Spotting in Nashville

We've been reading in the Nashville newspaper about the icy weather battering Britain in recent weeks, and we've been wrapped up against the cold ourselves in Music City. But two days ago, it was suddenly like summer, and so today we were able to prowl the streets of Nashville in polo shirts, shorts and flip flops. More of this, please!

Barry and I stopped for a coffee at the Edgehill Cafe, a good venue for star spotting located just off Music Row. Had a great chat with transplanted Brit Lorna Flowers, who has been a songwriter here for about four years and has co-written with some of the top local tunesmiths. At the next table was Eric Heatherly, whom you may recall from his terrific remake of "Flowers on the Wall" several years ago, plus other songs like "Swimming in Champagne", "Wrong Five O'Clock" and "Lower East Side of Life".

Eric's been working on a new album called "2 High 2 Cry" and has already had one of the tracks used in the TV show, "Grey's Anatomy."

Meanwhile, Barry's beautiful partner in crime, the lovely Mairead, was getting her hair done in the Gulch in Nashville when she noticed some very unusual cowboy boots on the blonde in the next stylist's chair. Thinking the booted young lady looked vaguely familiar, it all clicked for Mairead when the person in question got up to leave and said "I'll say hi to Blake for you". The Blake in question was Blake Shelton, and the booted and freshly coiffeured blonde was Miranda Lambert.

I've mentioned before how Jake Owen ("Don't Think I Can't Love You". "There's Something about a Woman" and "Yee Haw") has been getting personal training sessions at Boost Fit Club, health club of the stars in the Bellevue section of Nashville. Jake's trainer and co-owner of the club Jon Sexton now tells me that CMT was in the club filming Jake as part of a "day in the life of" series. Wish I'd had an advance warning...I had planned on standing in the background wearing a VoC t-shirt during the shoot. Next time...

If YOU want to rub shoulders with the stars in Nashville, plan on joining us for the CMA Music Festival in June or the CMA Awards in November. Barry and I would love to show you around Music City as part of our VoC Tours.
