Garth Brooks played a secret three-hour gig on Sunday, February 22nd at the Tin Roof restaurant in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood. Approximately sixty fans were allowed to attend the top secret show.
How did these lucky people manage to get on the guest list? They were players for Nashville's hockey team, the Predators, and Garth was thanking them for their donations to his Teammates for Kids charity. Garth's organisation provides education and health services to children from deprived families.
Garth reportedly showed up in his casual. everday attire, with a baseball cap rather than a cowboy hat, and told a number of stories from his life and career mixed in with the acoustic performance. In a similar fashion to the Jeff Bates gig at the VoC CMA Awards Tour in Nashville last November, the set was performed without a microphone, with Garth perched on a barstool or wandering among the small group of listeners as he entertained.
When he finally wrapped up, Garth beat a hasty retreat, as he was dashing to the airport to catch a flight to Detroit, where he was going to host a similar event for the Detroit Red Wings.
