Chris Cagle Beats Assault Charge in Nashville

Chris Cagle has emerged unscathed from one of two criminal cases filed against him.

A Nashville court has dismissed assault charges against Chris Cagle after his girlfriend, the alleged victim, refused to testify.

Jennifer Tant invoked her right against self-incrimination to avoid answering prosecutors' questions in the case, which arose from a dispute between the couple that escalated into physical violence on May 28th. The incident, which happened not far from the VoC studios in the Bellevue section of Nashville, resulted in criminal charges being lodged against both Chris and Jennifer.

After her refusal to testity and the dismissal of the case against Chris, the prosecutor elected to also ask for dismissal of the charges against Jennifer also.

Chris still faces a court case in Tucson, Arizona set for September 23rd, in which he is charged with assaulting the boyfriend of one of his fans in an incident occurring last December 13th.
