Justin Moore, “Back That Thing Up” – We think there’s nothing more exciting than a new artist with a new sound and Justin Moore fits the bill perfectly. He grew up in an Arkansas town so small, not only were there no street lights, but the streets didn’t even have names. His debut single pairs rocking guitars with a stone Country vocal and a spoken verse reminiscent of Toby Keith’s “Getcha Some”. Carrie Underwood, “Just a Dream” – Carrie’s most recent single, “Last Name”, is a hard act to follow. Wisely, Carrie chooses to follow it up with something completely different. Gretchen Wilson, “Don’t Do Me No Good” – Something new from Country’s scariest diva (would YOU want to take her on in a Friday night pub brawl? We wouldn’t!) Gretchen attempts to resurrect some of her former glory with a break-neck Country rocker, taken from her forthcoming album, “I Got Your Country Right Here”. Crossin Dixon, “I Love My Old Bird Dog (& I Love You)” – This new group has made previous appearances on the VoC Hitlist with “Guitar Slinger” and “Make You Mine”. The third time around they keep the harmonies strong on a feel-good mid tempo affair, in which the singer expresses his love for animals and popcorn…that sounds like a straight thinking guy to us!  http://www.crossindixon.com/
