After issuing a duet on the song "Shiftwork", George Strait and Kenny Chesney continue to plow similar musical ground, with both of them individually recording the song "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven."
Kenny's recording of the song debuted on Voice of Country within hours of its release on July 28th. It's the first single from Kenny's new album, to be called "Lucky Old Sun".
Meanwhile, it turns out that George had ALREADY recorded the song, intending to include it on his "Troubadour" album. Before the album came out, George played it for Kenny at a tour stop in Montgomery, Alabama. When George later decided not to include the song on "Troubadour", Kenny jumped in and recorded it for his new album.
Now the word is that George's version will soon see the light of day as a digital release, although not as an official George Strait single.
