Darryl Worley and former Lonestar lead singer Richie McDonald are among a cluster of Country stars who all just signed to a new record company.
The new label, Stroudavarious Records, is headed up by James Stroud, a top Nashville producer and former head honcho at Giant Records and Dreamworks in Nashville. James was the one who helped catapult Darryl to stardom in the 1990's before Dreamworks was bought by Universal Music and subsequently shuttered.
Besides Darryl and Richie, Stroudavarious has also picked up Anthony Smith ("If That Ain't Country", "John J. Blanchard") and new group Houston County.
In addition, Stroud has a second label, Country Crossing, that has signed veteran acts John Anderson and Lorrie Morgan. The label is tied to a new Alabama resort of the same name that will have venues run by the stars, much like the set-up in Branson, Missouri. John will have a steakhouse bearing his name, while Lorrie will open a Hot Chicken establishment, like she formerly owned in Nashville with estranged husband Sammy Kershaw.
