Although the Dixie Chicks have been out of the charts for some time now, their personal lives continue to make the news.
The latest word from the Chicks camp is that Emily has been divorced by her husband, Country artist Charlie Robison. Charlie initiated the proceedings in the Bexar County Courthouse, San Antonio, Texas, and the process was finalised on August 6th.
Charlie alleged in his court filing that the marriage had become unsupportable due to "discord or conflict of personalities". The couple had been married for nine years and have three children. Custody details have not been announced.
A spokesman for the band says Emily and Charlie "remain the best of friends and their family is obviously their priority".
