Billy Yates

A Country Music Renaissance Man

Billy Yates has one of the largest UK fan bases of any Country artist. This is no accident, as Billy has tirelessly and selflessly worked to build the audience for Country music in Britain and Europe through relentless touring and the cultivation of friendships with fans across the region.

Billy has been involved in music since singing on the radio with his family as a child in Missouri. He's worked as a radio presenter and barber in the past, but since moving to Nashville in 1987, he's been racking up music industry achievements, starting with the writing of the 1993 CMA Vocal Event of the Year, "I Don't Need Your Rock'n' Chair".

Billy also penned another George Strait cut, "Choices", that was nominated for a Grammy award. In addition, Billy's songs have been recorded by George Strait, Kenny Chesney, John Michael Montgomery, Sara Evans and numerous others.

Billy also has a number of hits to his credit as an artist, owns his own record label and has a publishing company that's developing the careers of a roster of exciting new writers and performer. In his spare time, he's now added on-air duties at VoC, where he hosts.
