Carrie refused to reveal publicly whether she voted for President-elect Barrack Obama or Sen. John McCain, and criticised artists who do speak out publicly.
"I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate. It's saying that the American public isn't smart enough to make their own decisions", she tells TV Guide.
Most Country stars kept their election choice private, although a few were high profile in their support for presidential candidates. Most of the Country artists who did make their views known supported the Republican candidate, John McCain, with John Rich being the most outspoken. Aaron Tippin was also active publicly with his support of McCain running mate Sarah Palin.
