Miranda Lambert has slowly become a critic's darling as well as a commercial success, and she has now outdone herself with NINE CMA Award nominations. That's the most for a female artist in CMA history.
Only Alan Jackson has topped that with ten nominations. The only other artist to receive nine was Merle Haggard.
Coming up behind Miranda this year are Lady Antebellum with five nominations. Miranda's fiance, Blake Shelton, tied with the Zac Brown Band, with four nominations each.
The other big suprise came in the Entertainer of the Year category, where last year's winner, Taylor Swift, failed to achieve a nomination. Carrie Underwood was also surprisingly left out of the Entertainer list, with Miranda being the only female making the cut.
