Dixie Chicks Split?

In what could be the first sign of the dissolution of the Dixie Chicks, sisters Emily Robison and Marty Maguire have announced plans to release an album WITHOUT lead vocalist Natalie Maines. Natalie has famously gotten the Chicks into a number of public controversies with her withering comments on Toby Keith and former Pres. George Bush and her statement that she "never really liked Country music anyway".

No date has been announced yet for the Natalie-free project. Marty will also be releasing a fiddle album with an accompanying instructional book, while Emily is also doing some solo demos. The Chicks' publicist had no news on any future projects from Natalie.
