Garth Wins $1 Million Judgment Against Hospital

An Oklahoma judge has award Garth Brooks $1,000,000 in his lawsuit against an Oklahoma hospital. Garth alleged that he donated $500,000 to the facility on condition that they name part of the building after his late mother. The hospital took the money, then didn't name anything after Colleen Brooks, so Garth sued.

The judge ruled the hospital had been out of line for accepting the money and then not living up to its side of the arrangement. He awarded Garth the $500,000 back plus another $500,000 in punitive damages, essentially a form of punishment to the hospital. So far the hospital's lawyers have declined to say whether they'll file an appeal.
